Lights, Glamour and Celebs

People find it very strange that I work on a show which is filled with celebs but that I don't actually have a clue who any of them are.

Today my colleagues gave me so much flack because I did not know who the celebrity they were talking about was. I even googled her and the face is triggering no memories.

Apparently since I've lived here for 2 and a half years I should recognise all of the d-list celebs that are talked about in the stupid newspapers over here. Can I help the fact that I do not like reading things like The Sun or The Daily Mirror? Would it make me do my job any better if I did recognise them?

On the same vein last night I saw the following celebrities coming into the building for "An Audience with Celine Dion" - you guys tell me if you recognise the names of anyof them

1) Louis Walsh

2) Shane Ward

3) Gaz (from 2 Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps)

4) Stephen Gately

5) Nicky and Kian from Westlife

6) Graham Norton

7) Carol Thatcher

Do YOU know them?

Today I did see Heather Mills-McCartney - that woman is completely insane.

OK, I know this is sad, but I do know all of them! Not personally of course, just by name. Probably wouldn't recognise half of them on the street though. But then, I did live in the UK for 14 years!

3 out of 7. Not that bad methinks.

@Delboy - You're forgiven then ;)

@glugster - Not soo bad, I could throw in a couple more and see if you know them

1) Jordan/Katie Price
2) Peter Andre

@toby - Eh, they're kind of one aren't they? ;)

@sweetass - They are famous ... here though. The British love their z-list celebs and are completely fascinated by them

@Mrs - my life is complete, I've seen Westlife in the building *happy sigh*

They're doing some show here in the next couple of weeks so I think that my Colleague and I might stalk them like we were stalking Celine ;)

I'm so glad I didn't recognise the Westlife names. And I thought I knew who Shane Ward was but then realised I was thinking of Shane Warne the cricketer...

Congratulations Msmozi, you officially are the last sad out of all of us ;)

I recognised heather! I recognised the name Westlife, but I've never known their names... were any of them cute to look at at least?!!

As an X Factor addict I can safely say yes to 1, 2 and 5. I think I'm excused from being sad though, because I know them through a tv show and not through the tabloids *surreptitiously slides Heat magazine under desk*

@lecturelady - Westlife are some of the most beautiful boys ever *happy sigh*

Actually I have met an absolutely gorgeous boy - but until the 12th of November I can not mention him ... keep yourselves tuned to hear about him though! ;)

@lopz - Heat is wonderful! Do you ever read Perez Hilton? That gets me through lunch ;)

@Wiggly - I live in Wombletown, of course I have seen them! ;)

@Lopz - *happy sigh*

I join the list of saddos because I know every single one of them. What show were you working on as it seems that you have a D listers paradise there. Throw in Jordan and Peter and it is all systems go.

@sugar - Those were just people milling around the entrance the other night to go and watch An Audience with Celine Dion. I see Peter and Jordan most days eating lunch in the cafeteria when their show is being recorded. They're strange.

I work on another big show ;) Not telling ...
