Now now Miss M

A couple of weeks ago, when I was really annoyed with work as they didn't have an active project for me to work on, I applied for a job that I saw online - I them promptly forgot about it.

This morning - sitting ever so nicely in my inbox - was an email from the company saying that they loved my CV and want me to come in for an interview tomorrow.

Now yesterday I was given my new contract for an extension until the end of March, apparently to keep my pay ticking over until they decide what I am going to be working on and for how long.

I haven't signed it.

I'm going for the interview tomorrow.

Do you that this is cheeky?

At least I can tell the people I'm working with at the moment since we're all freelancers so my Manager is fine with me leaving at 430pm tomorrow to go for an interview.

Somehow I feel like I'm cheating on the company.

But you do have to look out for number 1 don't you?

go for it ... you are on contract, you can't really be too sentimental, as I'm sure they wouldn't be if they no longer required your services ...

Alex that is so true. They could just end my contract without any regrets. And I've seen them do it to others!

Well we'll see after tomorrow :)

Let's hear it for Number 1! Misplaced Loyalty is the saddest thing I see in my colleagues.

I think you have every right to go for it!! Never live life with regrets...imagine, it could be the best job of your life and you passed it up because of loyalty. As commendable as that is and an amazing quality...life is just too short!! Go for it!!

@philly - Sometimes you do have to have loyalty but sometimes not. I think this is one of those moments.

@blonde bombshell - I love the cheerleading! I want a personal one in my office. Want a new job? ;)

when it comes to employment you should have no loyalty, that does sound awful but they wouldn't think twice firing you... so indeed, look out for number 1~! btw~ tell us more, what's the job about??

I'm in agreement with all the other comments - look out for numero uno! Just remember, if the interview goes well and you end up taking the job - I think Steve should come with you.

@saintly nick - Thanks :)

@ruby - You're right honey, we'll see after this afternoon. Never know what is around the corner!

@sweetass - The job is working at a Production Company that produce music events and videos. They do a lot of online music videos and also filmed the 02 festival for the past 3 years running. Massive music event in England. Sounds like a really cool thing, I've never worked in music before!

@mozi - Steve would so be coming with me! Him and I are best buds now ;)

I mainly look out for number 2 - especially when it's hitting the fan. Hope the interview goes swimmingly.

That is true.

But have you ever done a number 1 into the wind? Not so much fun apparently ...

look after yourself Miss M! Do what you need to do to make yourself happy.

Good luck with the interview xx

As tempting as that is Miss M, um... I didn't look as smashing as I thought I might in the faded uniform, so you might pay me to NOT be there! LOL

This comment comes a little late but totally agree with Alex. You have to think about you because the company sure as hell isn't!!
