Beep Miss M doesn't work here anymore

Do you know what frustrates me about being at the same company for long periods of time? It is the fact that nothing ever fully disappears and it is constantly coming back to bite you in the arse.

The show that I was working on last year between August and December has been hassling me for the past couple of days. But I mean it isn't even for anything serious, it is for stupid small things that other people messed up and now are bringing back to blame on me.

Phone rings

Miss M: Hello Miss M speaking

New Person: Hi Miss M, (Line Producer) told me to give you a shout. She was just wondering if you could remember the people you sent out the DVD box set to last year?

Miss M: Panicked pause - I'm supposed to remember this shit?? Hi, I'm not 100% certain I'll take a look to see if I made a list

New Person: That would be fab!

Yes because I definitely made a list of something that I did in December last year!!! I'm not THAT organised people!

Next favourite mission

Email pings into my mailbox

Hey hey hey Miss M

Boring work question - do you know where the key to the wardrobe cupboard for (name of last years show) is? (Line Manager) is asking for it

hey hey hey hey hey Fellow Co-ordinator

You've got to be kidding right? Last time I saw that was last year in December when I finished working and handed everything over to you and (other colleague). Perhaps we could break in?

Gar this show is going to drive me mental. I think that I get bothered about once a week regarding things I have no recollection of.

I mean I can barely remember last week let alone 5/6 months ago??!?!?!!?

See if I moved on to another company I wouldn't have to deal with this. They wouldn't track me down.

P.s: He has really pretty lips. I keep watching them when he talks. This could get dangerous. He's promised to find me apple lucozade before he moves down into the Edit on Monday because I am obsessed with the stuff.

Shall we make a bet on whether or not they’d tack you down?

People are morons. I've come to that conclusion. ha ha! But yeah, its not your responsibility to remember or sort out those things anymore.

As for sexy co-worker guy...PLEASE post a pic:) ha ha. Oohh nice lips...it could get VERY dangerous *grin*. Ah so sweet, so he's promised to go hunt down something for you, because you love it....*ding ding ding*, I'm sure he's into you too ;)

mmm...gorgeous lips on a man...you may as well slap me silly...I get entranced!

As for the morons from your previous show...you have time to deal with that shit?!?

Just get hold of the line manager & give them a list of everything you did when you left...that way they'll know if they should or shouldn't disturb you at your way more involved current show!

@Nick - They will. I'm only 1 floor down from them. I'm living in paranoid fear!

@Snapper - Yes they are! No I refuse to take a photo of my work colleague and post it up online! What do you people take me for??? Ye you'd offer to get me apple lucozade too if every lunch time I asked for it ;)

I hate to burst your happy bubble but even if you were at a different company thay'd still track you down and ask you dumb-ass questions - they'd call you on yo mobile! I left the other production house in June last year and I swear in February I was still getting calls about whether I remember what the so-and-so project I edited was filed under, or where the bloody master tape for the what-what project is, and do I still have a copy of the final script for the blah-blah video!!! WTF??? Who does that? Deep breath!
Thanks for letting me vent! And tell them where to get off! Muhahahaha

@supernova - HAHHAHAHHA, ye you are so right. My last company called me up still 5 months after I left to ask me inane things. But the joy of not working for them anymore is you can say I don't know and not feel guilty about it! Here I actually have to help :(

So you're an editor?

Supanova said...

Oooo yeah Miss M... it's so much fun telling them 'Oh, I don't know seeing as I haven't been there since, like, FOREVER!' LMAO... U're a riot!
Not really an editor... I'm a producer/scriptwriter. Editing is last on my list of 'things I can do'. I have a love-hate relationship with edit suites! Haha... But my job sure ain't as glamorous as yours! ;)

The Divine Miss M said...

Edit suites are strange places. I should blog about them really. And the Editors are an even stranger bunch!

Dude my job isn't glamorous at all but glad you think so! I sit at a desk in front of a computer (granted it does have a giant blow up kangaroo behind it)organising things. How glam is that?!?!!?

Producing is much more glam!
