Autograph Hunters

There are these strange and creepy people that hang outside of our building in the mornings. It is kind of disturbing. They are there to collect as many autographs from the "celebrities" who frequent our building. God alone knows WHAT they do with the autographs but hey, each to their own right?

It is always the same people though. And these people are not the cream of the crop. Well I suppose you wouldn't find them outside of a building all morning during the week - the stylish people have more important things to do.

Like live!

These people tend to dress in clothing that looks as if it has been in the back of their wardrobes since the 80's - they also smell as if they haven't bathed since the 80's either! They stand near the exit with their little notepads, pens and cameras chatting amongst each other and swapping what I can only presume to be stories of all the Z-list Celebs that they have met.

But seriously how do they know which celebrities are there that day? Do they have contacts in the show? Do they actually know who is going to be on or do they just show up with the hopes of seeing someone famous?

Do these people not have a life?!

Red carpet events are even worse. These people are there for about 5 hours before the event even begins.

What do you get from this? So you get a squiggle on a piece of paper and a photograph possibly with someone off TV. Big frikken deal.

Get a life.

Please.

P.S - Brussels was great fun. I love old European cities.

Back from hobnobbing away with the sprouts I see?

If they're smart, they possibly sell the autographs to bigger losers who keep them in fancy

I don't get it either. Just like the other day in LA and I was stuck in traffic for over an hour, because people slowed down to see what show/movie was being shot in the carpool lane on the highway!
It's not as if they could actually see anyone, either. Plus, you think LA residents would be used to location shooting by now.

@pdx - So true. Cept I did walk past a film shoot the other day and desperately tried to see what it was.

But I do it for professional reasons. You know? ;)

Same story at my offices.... we have a movie premiere and the whole plaza is crawling with fans hoping to just catch a glimpse of their fave celeb. Honestly, the waste of time. Bet they must hate me, sitting on the windowsill in my office all toasty warm, watching from a vantage point above while they freeze their asses off and jump up and down to see past the heads in front of them!!

As for how they know, I rate that the publicists leak info to the paparazzi, who in turn probably get money off the fans for information. At least, thats what Perez Hilton says anyway!

Um...they probably just hang around hoping for a glimpse/autograph! How totally bizarre!

What baffles me is that these hanger abouters truly believe that celebs are something other than normal human beings...truly odd really?!?

Shame, poor boring sods!

I believe that celebrities should hassle us plebs for our autographs - after all, without us there is no them.

They work because WE want entertainment.

Also, without us, there would be no running water, no sewers, heat, cars, etc. etc.!

@lopz - Yes but if you didn't have that perfect seat would you be down there on the road trying to see a "celeb"?

@Pdx - I stop traffic where ever I go ;)

@kab - Yup, they really are total weirdos.

@mike - I LOVE your thinking! However I do think that if I said that to one of these "celebs" they're bodyguards might punch me.

@sweets - What do you want to know? I came, I saw, I conquered and then I came home ;)

Of course not! Probably not. Ok, well, if it was Wentworth Miller then maaaaybe... I'm pathetic, I should just admit it.
