This is NOT art

Ok this has really upset me today.

Happy Snapper wrote an entry about this horrid art exhibition that took place last year where the artist took a dog off the street, tied it to a pole in the art gallery and starved it until it died. That was considered art. People actually went to go and see this. That is most disgusting thing I have ever heard.

And they are going to repeat it again this year.

What?!?! Torturing animals for our enjoyment? In the name of art?! What is this world coming to? Seriously!

I can not bring myself to post up the photos but please go and look at her entry - after seeing those images please sign the following petition.

How can we allow this to be done?

Please, please, please, please, please sign the petition!

That is inhumane!!! What kind of psycho would do such a thing!! I'd like to tie the so-called artist up and starve THEM to death!! Isn't there an Animal Society there? or PETA? I would contact PETA so they will do something about it.... I don't even want to look at the pictures.. If I was there I would protest!

I signed it.

I don't consider myself a cruel person, but want the "artist" tied up and starved to see what it's like.

It's breathtakingly disgusting.

WTF??? That is the most disgusting thing I've heard. How the hell could anyone call that art!

I guess the people that murder and rape are also artists huh?

Whats the artist's name? I'll give him one; Fucked Up Shit!

"...Natividad was untied at all times except for the three hours the exhibition lasted, was regularly fed by the artist, and escaped after a day." - quote from the director of the art gallery concerned.

from here: http://www.artinfo.com/news/story/27240/alleged-animal-abuse-sparks-outrage-against-artist/

I signed the petition as well.

@mark - Glad you signed!

@pdx - I think that this is happening as we speak and I hope you signed!

@meghan - It is isn't it?

@elise - It makes you wonder about us that we can call it art or even go to an exhibition and look it it. HORRID!

@callumd - Thanks C, but you still got to wonder don't you? I mean he refuses to say whether the dog lived and at the end of the day he is still taking advantage of a starving animal for art. It's disgusting. Thanks for signing!

This has been sent to me twice via e-mail. I was absolutely shocked, but at the same time wasn't sure whether to believe all the details... it's one thing for some fucked up wanker to try and turn cruelty into art, it's another for a gallery to condone it and request a repeat performance.

Obviously it doesn't make THIS dog's situation better, but what I want to know is why one of those visitors didn't untie the dog and take it to the nearest vet? What is WRONG with people?

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I was the 213,857th signatory of the petition.

I cannot believe that people would do this twice in one lifetime-Sadly,its not just the sick fuck proclaiming to be an "artist" but every single person who is involved in the gallery,viewed the exhibition or was aware of what was being done in that gallery at the time who is guilty of the most atrocious animal abuse.

This is going up on my blog.

If I ever meet this guy face to face, one of us is going away in a body bag.

And it won't be me.
