The Cat is Out of the Bag

So the show I work on officially announced the names of the "Celebs" which are taking part this year.
What has upset me though is that we have kept it secret for this long but apparently we have a leak within the team somewhere as yesterday one of the trashy newspapers printed the entire lineup correctly other than 2 people.

One of the people is Jason "J" Brown from the old boy band 5ive. Who remembers them? I LOVED them and J was just the hottest thing ever. Now let me tell you he still is. Wow that man is drop dead gorgeous. We've all been fighting over who gets the privilege of marrying him - the other Co-Ordinator and I are going to get in to a cat fight over him I swear.

Back to my original point though - we have a leak. I can honestly say that I would not have been able to sell the names to the newspapers. I've worked so hard on this show that I just couldn't. What type of person does it take to do that? You might get an awful lot of money but is it worth it? I couldn't live with myself.

Could you?

Jason is so hot.

*drool*

I don't think I could do something like that for a show I was actually working on. Then again I've never had the opportunity to work on or be in a show, so I coudn't say for sure.

On the other hand if it wasn't something I personally had worked on, and a lot of money was involved I might be able to.

ooh - you work on I'm a celebrity. Do you get to go to OZ? By the way I am a bit worried about you, would you get into trouble if someone from work finds out you are blogging about work?

um *g* ... integrity over loads of money ...

Integrity 0 - Money 1 ;)

but yar ... not cool ... specially when you put all the work in and someone else buggers that up

Ooooh, tres harsh. Leaks are the pits - unless someone in your PR dept deliberately leaked it to get people interested in the show.
I work in magazines so i know that happens often - the PR people will "accidentally" reveal stuff from shows so they can get some publicity before it starts.
Does the resultant publicity affect the show negatively or positively Miss M?

@Toby - It doesn't affect it badly I guess, but there is the whole suspense thing and then they reveal them all the first night of the show which is supposed to be a surprise. I don't think it was our press and pr as they've made such a big deal out of it but you never know.

@sugar - I don't think any of them would find out as I'm not linked to any English websites and it is mostly SA people who read. I'm not letting out any trade secrets and I don't mention any names. I'd never talk about things that I'm not allowed to - it is mostly just amusing conversations that I overhear etc. You know someone on the show, SHUSH! :P

*sings* Get on up, when you're down, baby, take a good look around...

Do you know they were managed by Simon Cowell, and that they turned down "Baby one more time", which of course went on to be Britney's biggest ever hit... some random trivia for you.

I'm not surprised about the leak, altho I think it sucks. Tabloids pay such big bucks for celebrity info these days, and I guess the temptation for many people is too much. I agree with Rabbit... I might be sellable if it didn't hurt my show or anyone I work with, but I also like to think I'd be able to hang on to my integrity!

A leak...geez, that's cut-throat. If they find out, that person is tog ma gonna get fired. WHY DO SHIT LIKE THAT? Geeziz

I do not remember this Jason person...is it just me, or have a lot of boyband/celebs from the 90's become microwaveable?

If you have a suspect perhaps you must concoct a story and tell that person only. Then, if it lands up in the tabloids you'll know who it is for sure.
