Boredom is a killer

I'm irritated today. What is the point of coming into work when you actually aren't doing anything?

Today I have read some blogs, surfed the internet, visited colleagues on other floors and generally farting about.

They haven't assigned me to a show, I have no boss and most important of all I have no work to do what so ever.

Whilst this might sound like paradise let me tell you it isn't. There really is only so much internet surfing you can do and 9 hours of nothing is mind numbingly boring.

Oh what I wouldn't give to be at home watching Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. Or out shopping. Or in a swimming pool being eaten by savage sharks. (yes it is THAT boring)

I even tried to be late this morning. I left the house at 0930am - 35 minutes later than I usually do - and still got to work only 5 minutes late. Yes I know, how strange. I have no idea how I did that. Starting to think I needn't leave till them most days. Tomorrow I might try leaving 45 minutes later than I usual. What you think?

Oh my god I'm bored.

Oh foo...I'm totally in the same boat! The project I'm working on, well my section in it, has been put on hold...I'm now doing operational work which is both boring & quick...eek!

I now research all things relating to London...hurrah!

Thanks for those links by the by...they're fab!

At least it is better then having choas around you with a deadline looming for which you need to produce work BUT your not sure what work you need to do and no amount of asking helps !!!

bring a bag of goodies from home tomorrow... pack out all your nail polish and nail files and make a show of it, the boss is bound to notice and maybe make a plan ;)

it is the worst having nothing to do, good luck!

@sweets - I actually have some stuff to do today! Problem is I've gotten so used to hanging around now doing nothing that I've forgotten how to work! hehhee

I think you need a hobby that you can work on at work. Something else besides writing...Beauty therapy, perhaps? You could start giving your colleagues daily make-overs. Who knows, you might become an in demand, multi-millionaire make-up artist to the stars!
