I made a lift faux pas earlier. Apparently touching your colleagues in the lift is not the done thing. In my defense I got a fright and he was comfortable.
Get in the lift at floor 21. One other person in there.
Lift starts rushing down towards the ground
Miss M falls over her own feet whilst in a pair of high heels fullforce in to the lift partner, grabbing him around the waist in the process.
Miss M: EEEEEKKKKKKKKKKK (was a frightning experience ok)
Colleague: It's ok, the lift always goes this fast when it doesn't stop on any other floors
Miss M: I just fell over my high heels
Colleague: I'm sure. I promise you it's ok.
Miss M: I'm fine I promise.
Colleague: Can you please let go of my waist then?
Miss M: Sorry
Least I'm leaving soon so I won't have to be reminded of this experience for months to come.

High heels are bad for my health

I promise I wasn't smoking Mum
The office that I work in has 22 floors and there are two times of the day when these elevators are in constant demand - Office Rush Hour. At these times the lifts will basically stop on every single floor on the way up and on the way down. It is incredibly frustrating and when all I want to do is leave the building I can feel my blood pressure climbing higher and higher at every single floor. And I only have 10 to go down, imagine being on the 22nd floor!
The elevators are the most quiet place in the whole building. Sometimes I wish that I could stop one between floors, drag my desk into it and work from there - but that wouldn't really be practical on so many levels would it? (haha I amuse myself)
So last night I got into a completely packed elevator on my floor and prepared myself for the long descent.
Now has anyone ever noticed how no one speaks in an elevator? You just stare at the screen displaying which floor we are arriving at or passing. Now I don't know why but I found this highly amusing last night.
Finds her spot in the elevator by jamming a couple of smaller people with her elbows
Spots a colleague at the far end of the elevator and waves politely; neither of us actually speak to one another
Miss M decides to look around the rest of the elevator
Miss M realises that EVERYONE is staring at the little screen except her
Miss M starts to giggle
Floor 9
Miss M starts to giggle louder
Floor 7
Miss M has almost reached a point of hysterics
Floor 5
Miss M actually has tears running down her cheeks with the effort of trying not to laugh any harder
Ground
I have never seen people depart an elevator so fast in their life nor with such scared expressions on their faces.
And I still have no idea what I found so funny.

Overheard in the Elevator 3
Just minding my own business making my way to my floor when ...
Male 1: Show going well?
Male 2: Ye, going really well thanks
Male 1: Got any shoots coming up?
Male 2: Got one tomorrow actually, we're filming a birth in an airplane. Lots of blood. Should be good.
Male 1: Wicked
Male 2: Though we've got some actors coming in for 1 liners, hopefully they won't say too much
Male 1: Mmmhh
Miss M gets off at her floor
Blood? I wonder how they reenact that ...
Director: Okay, we need to see lots of blood gushing now, can someone please bring on the actor and make sure she is bleeding enough. If not would someone please make the incisions deeper, I need to see lots of blood people! Work with me here!
Haha, I wouldn't put that past some TV directors.

Overheard in the Elevator 2
Standing in the lift looking at an advertisement for the Rugby World Cup
Girl 1: You know rugby players are quite strange
Girl 2: Why?
Girl 1: Well they are quite gorgeous and all ...
Girl 2: Oh yes!
Girl 1: But they're all rugby, rugby, rugby, rugby
Miss M gets out at a random floor to dissolve into fits of giggles. What would you rather have them all about love? Shoes? Makeup?
I do love pretending to listen to my Ipod in the elevator

Overheard in the Elevator
Boy1: Oh Frank I found the elf suit
Boy2: Fantastic
Boy1: Do you want to come up to the office and grab it later?
Boy2: Definitely. Roger will be so happy, he has a thing for elves
Boy1: (Getting out at his floor) Wicked, see you soon
Now one can only hope that this is a costume for a show and not his strange sex life!!!
